1968 Imperial Crown

4 Door Hardtop

I recently procured this car from a lady a few miles from my home. The car has less than 45,000 miles on it. It sat in a barn from 1984 until late in 1999. The body is in very good condition, except for rust along the bottoms of the quarter panels, typical for a Michigan car. There is also a good deal of surface rust on the passenger side quarter panel, and it appears that maybe this panel is from a different car.

So far everything, including the power antenna, the power windows, and even the Auto-Temp seem to work. I have rebuilt the carburetor, and although the gas tank needs to be flushed, the car runs quite nicely. The car now rests on new tires, and I am starting on the body work. I did discover that there is a minor vaccum leak, that presents itself when the car is in gear.. I believe that the leak is in the hose leading to the parking brake release diaphragm. If this is the worst thing I find wrong mechanically with this car, I am a happy guy.

These pictures were taken a few days before I retrieved the car. I'll add progress photos as time goes on.
